Do I Have a Case?
The only surefire way to find out is to contact an attorney. The merit of the case is determined by several factors. There are three things that a jury must recognize in order for you to win: liability, causation, and damages. One of the attorneys at Jacobs & Goodman, P.A. will be able to evaluate the facts of the case during a free consultation. Contact us to schedule an appointment.
How Much is My Case Worth?
The question as to how much your case is worth can only be answered with a qualified, "It depends." Much of what it depends upon is how the case unfolds once the lawsuit is filed and each side begins taking evidence. However, we at Jacobs & Goodman, P.A. should be able to give you a range based upon the nature of the injury, the extent of the damages, and the degree of liability.
There is no specific calculation or formula for determining how much a case is worth. A case may have extraordinary liability and very few damages. Other cases may have extraordinary damages and borderline liability. Each of these can impact the settlement value of a case.
How long will it take for my case to go to trial?
This depends on whether your case is settled or must present to trial. If a trial results, the process can take up to two years. Settlement, however, can occur at any point in the process.
How much will it cost me to prosecute?
If there is no recovery, then the cost to you or your loved one is nothing. The actual cost to Jacobs & Goodman, P.A. to investigate your claim can be extraordinary. Jacobs & Goodman, P.A.
